On a beautiful wooded site with a pond, just 5 miles outside downtown Raleigh, this house is set back from the main road via a crunchy gravel drive. The home is designed around views of the pond to the East and natural light throughout the day. Simple forms, natural materials and exposed structural elements were also important. At a depth of 50 feet, the pond is an excellent source of fish, as wall as geothermal energy exchange, forgoing the need to drill a well. This house is currently under construction.
